Healthcare in South Africa
Access to comprehensive, quality healthcare services is important for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and managing diseases, reducing unnecessary disability and premature death, and achieving health equity for every citizen.
Our public healthcare system is in a crisis. With 5.6 million people living with HIV (17.3% of the population), we have the highest rate of people living with HIV in the world. Medicine has over the years improved, but our primary healthcare has a long way to go.
Primary healthcare is the one target we should not be missing if we wish to achieve universal health coverage and health equity by 2030 as per our Sustainable Development Goals. Studies have shown that 80% of patients’ needs can be met through primary healthcare if its managed and executed effectively.
This is where Innovo Mobile Healthcare bridges the gap. We have mobile clinics which offer preventative, clinical and diagnostic services to the communities in which we operate, whilst also equipping them on lifestyle decisions to keep them healthy.

Well-structured primary healthcare delivered to the people can ensure everyone has access to health services which are focused on their needs. Primary healthcare needs to be affordable, effective, of acceptable quality, safe and most importantly accessible even to those in remote areas. The future of healthcare lies in the ability to be effective in reaching and serving more people.
